The last Thursday of the month is coming once again and NAAAP San Diego is proud to bring you the 8th event in our increasingly popular "Networking for a Cause" mixers. Please join us on Thursday, September 30th at 6:00 PM at Saigon on Fifth, winner of San Diego's Best Vietnamese Restaurant for 2010 by San Diego Union Tribune. Attendees will receive a delicious set of hors d'oeuvres.
A portion of our net proceeds from this month's event goes to support the Vietnamese American Youth Alliance (V.A.Y.A); a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan, community-based organization founded in 2004 as a means for Vietnamese American youth to organize socially and culturally within their local communities. Our donation will help fund the Lunar New Year Tet Festival; VAYA's flagship event of the year which attracts over 20,000 attendees per year. Festival highlights include numerous Vietnamese performance groups, cultural activities and foods from several Vietnamese restaurants all supported by hundreds of youth volunteers.

Attend the San Diego Asian Film Festival with NAAAP-SD
The 11th annual San Diego Asian American Film Festival(SDAFF) is just around the corner! Each year the SDAFF is able to showcase various Pan Asian artists through international films, along with shorts, documentaries, and animation. Join your fellow NAAAP-SD and RAPA members in watching IP Man 2 and Time Traveler as we are purchasing group tickets.

Back by popular demand, NAAAP San Diego is proud to present Networking For a Cause #11 at Prospect Bar & Grill in beautiful downtown La Jolla. In light of our prior year's budget surplus and an increased demand for international aid, NAAAP San Diego will donate 100% of our net proceeds to support relief efforts in Japan. Additional monetary donations will be accepted at the event and forwarded to our partners at DirectRelief.org.

Please join us for the 7th Annual San Diego Dragon Boat Festival, sponsored by San Diego Alliance for Asian Pacific Islander American. We will be teaming with the Raytheon Asian Pacific Association and will need 16 paddlers to participate. No experience is necessary! All members are welcome. Please feel free to bring guests. Participation fee has been covered by NAAAP and food will be provided, so come for a fun filled day of competition and networking. Meet fellow members as well as build new connections with Asian Americans in the San Diego community.

Asian-American female professionals face a unique set of challenges in the work force which is cultivated and addressed by Women in NAAAP (WIN!). As a division in NAAAP San Diego, WIN! strives to create a community of female Asian-American leaders equipping women with the skills necessary to further both personal and professional development while overcoming obstacles that may be faced by women in business.
Women in NAAAP is proud to present our June WIN! Mixer on June 16, 2011 at 6:30pm. WIN! will be donating all net proceeds to Shakti Rising, a women's organization endeavoring to produce leaders in our female community. This year, NAAAP focuses on Slope Climbing, Path Finding, and Game Changing topics, set up to propel each individual to reach his or her greatest leadership potential, regardless of what phase each person is at in his or her life.
