NAAAP San Diego is the San Diego venture of the National Association of Asian American Professionals. Our group was originally created as San Diego Asian Professionals (SDAP) in January of 2006. NAAAP-San Diego is a non-profit, professional organization that promotes leadership development of Asian American professionals in all areas including networking, business etiquette, professionalism, Asian cultural awareness, diversity and community service. As a Nationally recognized organization, we have the support of a large collective of chapters and ventures nationwide that share our passion and vigor. Objectives
1) To create and promote a strong, healthy community for those interested in the API culture and heritage.
2) To provide a professional network, facilitate and encourage personal and professional development through workshops, seminars, and events.
3) To actively participate in the San Diego community by supporting local organizations and programs.
4) To be positive role models and mentors to API youth and college students.
5) To promote diversity in the community and workplace.

The National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that cultivates, supports, and promotes Asian American leaders. NAAAP offers professional development opportunities on the local and national level, engages its membership in community service, and organizes professional networking events. Through NAAAP, members work together to enhance leadership in their careers and communities.
As the largest and fastest growing Asian American professional organization in North America, NAAAP continues to provide its members with the tools and resources to further career advancements and empower Asian Americans to become great leaders and reliable employees. Founded in 1982, NAAAP has since expanded to more than 25 metropolitan cities in the United States and Canada. NAAAP members are affiliated with either a chapter or a venture. Ventures exist as chapter start-ups throughout North America.
Members include a diverse group of leaders and working professionals, with various levels of educational and professional backgrounds: corporate, small business, non-profit, academic, and governmental. Our members are Asian Americans of all descents, who work together on career advancement while making significant contributions to the community.
NAAAP is dedicated to the improvement of the Asian American community by promoting leadership, career development, educational exchange, professional networking, social networking, and civic responsibilities. Currently NAAAP has a national network consisted of more than 4,500 members with chapters across the country. The membership is open to anyone regardless of ethnicity, socioeconomic status or creed. Current members include individuals from a range of backgrounds that include managers, entrepreneurs, and professionals in the community.
NAAAP is the network for Asian American leaders. The NAAAP Vision: “We make leaders!”

Paul S. Lim President
Paul S. Lim is the Venture President of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. He is responsible for directing the activities of committee and board members to promote the ideals and values of the organization. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. After living in Providence (RI) and Baltimore (MD), Paul moved to San Diego in 2009. He is currently a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional for MetLife - New England Financial (San Diego, CA).

Katrina Lee Secretary
Henry Li Treasurer
Henry Li is the Treasurer for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. He is primarily responsible for the finances of the organization. Henry earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Finance with a minor in Law in Economics from Arizona State University and completed a formal bank credit management training program. He is currently a corporate banker that is responsible for managing a $400 million loan portfolio. Henry grew up in southern Nevada and has lived in San Diego since 2006.
Nick Tran National Representative Nick is the National Representative for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. His primary responsibility is to serve as the local liaison between our members in San Diego and NAAAP National. Nick moved to San Diego after graduating with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Economics from George Mason University. He currently works for the U.S. Department of Defense and helps to negotiate, administer and award contracts. In his free time Nick enjoys rugby, snowboarding and promoting his lifestyle fashion company - www.respectmycelebrity.com.
Johne Chandler Corporate Relations Chair
Johne Chandler is the Corporate Relations Chair for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. He grew up in Louisiana and graduated from McNeese University. He has been actively involved in the Asian community in San Diego through various organizations and events. In his free time Johne likes to travel and teach sports such as kite surfing, rock climbing and sailing.
Michael Q. Nguyen Community Relations Chair
Michael Quy Nguyen is the Community Relations Chair for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. He is currently an undergraduate student at San Diego University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to his studies, he actively volunteers in the Vietnamese community in San Diego. In the future Michael plans to open his own mechanic shop.

Lois Shim Program Manager for WIN! (Women in NAAAP)
Lois Shim is the Program Manager and Chair of Women in NAAAP (WIN!) for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. She is responsible for creating and promoting events to bring together and empower Asian American female professionals within the association as well as the community. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science and a Minor in Communications. She grew up in Las Vegas (NV) and moved to San Diego in 2006. She is currently a Financial Advisor for The Pollakov Financial Group.
Dieu Ho Events Committee Chair
Becky Rayburn Health and Wellness Chair
Becky Rayburn is the Health & Wellness Chairperson for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. As Chairperson, she coordinates health events and educational activities on maintaining health through the awareness of physical exercise and nutrition. Becky graduated from Webster University with a Master's Degree in International Business. She has worked in many fields including healthcare. Becky is a native of San Diego. She is co owner of BecLar Enterprises and has a nutrition blog at www.BecLarEnt.Blogspot.com where she educates her viewers on the importance of low glycemic meals and other health topics.
Hertanto Lie Technology Chair
Hertanto Lie is the Technology Chair for the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) - San Diego. He is responsible for updating and maintaining NAAAP San Diego's website and facilitating efficient communication between board members through use of the latest web-based tools and technology. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Computer Science. After growing up in Jakarta, Indonesia Hertanto moved to San Diego in 2002. He currently works as a software engineer for CommerceTel, a San Diego-based mobile marketing company.
